A procura de novas áreas de negócio por parte das grandes editoras fonográficas

Universal Music UK has agreed a deal with video platform provider Roo, to launch 130 online video players featuring exclusive Universal Music video content from its roster of artists.
The deal is the second to be announced today between music companies and third-party platforms, following EMI's deal with VidZone Digital Media.
ROO will roll out its video players across all of Universal Music UK's major sites, which includes its label sites like Mercury Island, UCJ and Polydor Records, as well as on its individual artist sites.
The TV portals will be powered by the Roo Video Exchange platform, allowing Universal Music to host, upload, encode and stream its video content in-house.
"The exploitation of video content online is a key opportunity for music labels, and Roo will help Universal Music to maximise its existing content, and develop new services for its online community," said Tony Martin, senior vice president Roo Europe.
Unlike the EMI/Vidzone deal, Universal's arrangement with Roo won't include mobile delivery.
