He replaces Kim Allman, who left the organization recently to begin a private consulting business. Fernandez has been with the RIAA for six years.Los Angeles-based Flatow, GM of West Coast operations and senior VP of artist and industry relations, will take on responsibility for all California state government relations. He has worked for the RIAA for 12 years. "Ralph has been a terrific advocate for Latin music labels," says Mitch Bainwol, RIAA chairman/CEO. "We're fortunate that he will take on the additional role of ambassador to state governments on behalf of the music industry. Joel continues to be our key executive in California. His work leading our outreach to the music community on so many initiatives, as well as highlighting the theft of music in Los Angeles, has been a real asset to the organization and the industry. We're proud that he has taken on this additional and important role of representing the music industry in Sacramento."Fernandez and Flatow report to Mitch Glazier, executive VP of government andindustry relations, who is based in Washington, D.C.
